My name is Jackie Thomson, and I am a celebrant with over 30 years of experience in providing compassionate support during life’s most challenging moments I am excited to create meaningful farewells for families during their time of need.

As a celebrant, my commitment is to assist you in creating a fitting tribute, a service that is as unique and special as the individual it honours. My approach to being a celebrant is deeply rooted in empathy and care. I strive to help families articulate their emotions and say goodbye to their loved ones in a manner that reflects their unique lives. I specialise in crafting personalised ceremonies that capture the essence of the individual, including the creation of unique poems and a keepsake keyring that families can cherish.
While I have a background as a spiritualist and I serve with various churches across Scotland, I approach my celebrant work with a focus on inclusivity, only incorporating spiritual elements when specifically requested by the family.

An in-depth meeting to understand your loved one's story, character, and the impact they had on those around them. This meeting allows me to capture the essence of their life and the memories you cherish.
Discussion of specific themes, anecdotes, or elements you wish to be included in the service to ensure it truly reflects the person you are honouring.
Development of a bespoke service script that includes all the elements discussed in our meeting.

Creation of a structured yet heartfelt flow for the service, ensuring every aspect from beginning to end is considerate and reflective of the individual.
A eulogy is a deceased person’s life story, usually told at their funeral so what better way to tell the story than the person themselves? You’ve spent your whole life, up to now, carving out your life story. Writing your own eulogy or obituary allows you to carry on your legacy, even in death.
I will work with you in writing a funeral service this also includes a unique individualised poem and support with choosing songs and special requests. Like a toast, or a Rabbie Burns Epitaph etc.
Handling your eulogy yourself also gives you total control of such a key component of your send-off – one that you would usually have very little say in.
Better yet - leave a video recording to be played at your funeral or memorial. It can be an empowering way of reflecting on your life’s achievements and journey with loved ones.
